Farmstand Worker

Seasonal: Late July through November; Full, Part-time, or On-call

Looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people to join our farmstand team. Experience in retail, bakery, or and/food prep is preferred, but not required.

This job is primarily customer service, but it also includes restocking, prep, and closing. AM and PM shifts are available on both weekdays and weekends.

Looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys talking to customers
  • Collaborates well with other workers
  • Thrives in a busy working atmosphere
  • Is excited to learn about our different fruit varieties, baked goods, and local products

Some familiarity with the orchard is helpful. Let us know you're interested.

Bakery and Confections Lead

Seasonal: Late July through November

Looking for an experienced kitchen or bakery worker to join our farmstand team! ServSafe certification is preferred.

This job includes making donuts, fudge, cider caramels, and pies. It also includes kitchen inventory management, assisting in catering occasional events, supporting the sales staff, and creating new products.

Looking for someone who:

  • Likes collaborating with our other farmstand staff
  • Enjoys working in a busy kitchen
  • Is comfortable with early morning shifts (usually 7AM)
  • Can work 30 or more hours
  • Can work on the weekends and some weekdays
  • Has a good knowledge of sanitization and food safety practices

Baker Support
Seasonal: Full or Part-time: Late July through November

Looking for someone to assist in the kitchen with baking pies, making donuts, kitchen cleanup and generally supporting the farm stand staff. Most hours are on the weekends although some weekday mornings are possible in preparation for farmers’ markets and occasional special events.

Looking for someone who:

  • Likes collaborating with our other farmstand staff
  • Enjoys working in a busy kitchen
  • Can follow directions well
  • Can help maintain a clean kitchen

Orchard Work / Operations

Full time: All aspects of orchard management. Tractors, chainsaws, pruning, thinning, picking, horticulture, special situations (age 21 and up, pay $15-$25 depending on experience)

Seasonal: Crew work, picking, understory management.  July through November; Part-time, or On-call (age 18 and up, minimum wage)

Looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys physical activity and is excited about a physically demanding job
  • Loves being outdoors and is okay with some bad weather
  • Personable - able to work alone or with groups
  • Knowledge of orchard routines a big plus
  • Could lead to a salaried position for a competent individual

Field Work

Seasonal: July through November; Part-time, or On-call

Looking for people to join our fieldwork team! This job includes Fruit Harvesting, Drop Picking, Fieldwork. Fieldwork is usually done in small groups.

Age 16-17 The pay is ten dollars an hour.

Looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys physical activity and is excited about a physically demanding job
  • Loves being outdoors and is okay with some bad weather
  • Is excited to learn about how our fruit is grown

Mowing and Maintenance
Seasonal: July through November; Full, Part-time or On-call

Looking for someone to help with weed whacking, landscaping, trail upkeep, mowing, zero-turn, blade upkeep, and general machine upkeep.

Looking for someone who:

  • Has a general familiarity with mowers and landscaping tools

Internships with Stipends:

Art in the Orchard Event and Volunteer Coordinator
Seasonal: July through October
Are you a person who can use email, phone and texts to coordinate a volunteer force, greet and habituate the eager helpers, schedule and manage performers, parties, events and school field trips? If so this is a great opportunity to show your chops. Work with the orchard directors to help make this season fabulous. Let us know you're interested.

Unicorn and other Theatrical Compositions
Flexible Scheduling
This entails dressing like a two-legged handsome unicorn and proudly strutting around the orchard on weekends. Any unemployed actors out there? Let us know you're interested.

We try to have a good time and earn the sense of accomplishment from a good day's work. We try to eat well and stay hydrated. There are interesting people and conversations happening all around the orchard. The air and views are spectacular. Working an the apple season is always memorable.
